SECRETARY, ECONOMIC & FINANCIAL POLICY wanted at Ministry of Finance and Economic Development – Economic and Financial Policy Division

The mandate of the Economic and Financial Policy Division is Formulation and Coordination of the National Economic and Financial Policies.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified citizens for the below-mentioned positions tenable in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development – Economic and Financial Policy Division.

VACANCY: SECRETARY, ECONOMIC & FINANCIAL POLICY

SALARY SCALE: F1 (P575 160 per annum)

LEAVE: 30 working days per annum.

BENEFITS: i) Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme
(Government pays 50% and Employee pays 50%).

ii) A contract of 24 to 36 months, with gratuity at the rate of 30% payable upon expiry of the contract

QUALIFICATION: Degree in Accounting or Finance and Management or Economics and Accounting.

EXPERIENCE: At least twenty (20) years work experience in financial, socio-economic and macro-economic policy development and implementation.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To provide strategic leadership in the preparation of National Development plans, rural development, insurance & pensions, finance, banking, tax, human resource planning, enterprise development, population & development through formulating, reviewing and coordinating the implementation of financial, macro-economic and socio-economic policies.

DUTIES

1. Monitors the implementation of financial, macro-economic and socio-economic policies.

2. Monitors the implementation of the economic diversification strategy.

3. Advises on financial, macro-economic and socio-economic policies.

4. Provides direction in citizen economic empowerment and privatization.

5. Formulates and reviews financial, macro-economic and socio-economic policies.

6. Develops Employment creation strategies.

7. Develops and maintains sound relations with international financial and economic organisations.

8. Identifies staff skills gap and determines relevant development programme(s) for staff.

9. Monitors the implementation of the budget for the Division.

10. Prepares human and financial budget for the Division.
