General Manager – Transformation & Modernization – BURS

Overview of role

Botswana Unified Revenue Service (BURS) is mandated to carry out tax assessment and collection on behalf of Government and aims to ensure effective service delivery to taxpayers and border administration whilst maximising revenue collection. BURS endeavours to reach its goals and objectives by implementing multiple initiatives and projects in order to modernise and develop into a more effective and efficient organisation. The General Manager – Transformation & Modernisation will direct, coordinate and organise major initiatives aimed at the organisational, business, technology and cultural transformation of BURS, as well as coordinate, monitor and evaluate all projects and activities underway in the organisation to ensure successful delivery of transformation and modernisation agenda.

Job description

To lead the creation and oversee the standard process by which the organization develops policy and strategy, and plans, directs, coordinates and organises major initiatives all aimed at the organisational, business technology and cultural transformation of BURS.
To ensure that such transformation initiatives and projects are in line with BURS strategic objectives.
To oversee and coordinate the functions of the strategic management and planning, operational excellence (Business Process Management, Performance Improvement) and project management offices which service all parts of the organisation.

Requirements, Education and Experience
You will have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or related area coupled with at least 8 years post qualification of which 2 years should have been gained in a managerial role within a large complex organisation.
