INTERNET PROTOCOL SERVICES TECHNICIAN – BTC

Reporting to the IP Services Network Team leader, We Incumbent will be required to operate and maintain IP, Data and packet switch network services (Metro Core, Internet Core, IP Core, BRAS, Access Nodes ATM/TDM EoC Core, MPBN) and also to operate and maintain IP, Data and Packet switch network services (DNS. E-mails METRO, APN5, ADSL VPN’s EOC, leased lines frame relays and broadband)

The candidate will also be responsible for analysing, interpreting and providing solutions to logs and alerts on the IP, Data and Packet Switch network services You will also be required to implement monitoring of IP. Data and Packet switch network and services You will also implement optimum QoS parameters for the IP. Data and Packet Switch networks and services and maintain up-to-date knowledge of IP, Data and Packet Switch network technologies and trends thereof

The Incumbent will develop cross-functional support duties with other departments as directed by the supervisor and produce weekly activity reports and incidents reports of all failures with prolonged downtime and Impacted on customer service delivery

The ideal candidate should have a Diploma in Telecommunications Engineering. IP Engineering or equivalent with two (2) years’ professional experience in IP networks Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).

Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent ERB will be an added advantage
