HOPE worldwide Botswana (HwwB) is a non-profit making organization which is fully dependent on donor-funding. The organization has two main programs: HIV Prevention and Orphaned and other Vulnerable Children (OVC) services.

Other models and approaches implemented are: WE Legacy: which is an economic and social livelihood program for youth; and the Integrated Early Childhood Development (IECD), which runs stimulation groups for children. HwwB also runs interventions for youth (in and out of school).

These include utilizing a savings scheme called Aflateen, which empowers youth on issues of saving; and Youth Employment Program – through which youth are trained on job readiness skills and attached for work placement, DREAMS and Families Matter targeting caregivers of DREAMS girls.

Roles and Responsibility
– Oversee all the purchasing activities of the organization
– Evaluate suppliers and prepare supplier listing
– Ensure the staff is made aware of procurement policy and procedures and enforcing compliance
– Ensure purchased items are cost efficient and of high quality
– Maintaining positive supplier relationship
– Reviewing, comparing, analyzing and approving products and services tobe purchased
– Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchasing and pricing records
– Assisting the Accounts department in any other jobs assigned to do

Requirements
– Diploma in Procurement Management, AAT or related qualification
– Atleast 3 years of experience in procurement and accounting work
– Strong communication and negotiation skills
– Good analytical and strategic thinking skills
– Good attention to details

Note that this position may occasionally require working additional times. The officer will be based in our Gaborone Head Office and occasionally will be expected to travel to our branch offices in Molepolole and Kanye.
