DIRECTOR – INVESTMENT PROMOTION (RE-ADVERTISEMENT) – SELEBI-PHIKWE – SPEDU

Job Summary

This position is responsible for attracting, retaining and promoting key investment opportunities that complement the development objectives of the SPEDU Regional projects/operations

Main Responsibilities

Main responsibilities will include among others; (1) promoting investment opportunities available in the SPEDU Region; (2) providing leadership for the active participation of key stakeholders in creating an enabling environment for the Region to become a destination for investment; (3) providing investors with advice on company formation, start-up and site selection; (4) directing activities aimed at promoting the local and external competitiveness of goods and services produced in the Region; (5) initiating and approving the development of business cases aimed at transforming the region into an economic hub; (6) undertaking the creation of linkages across sectors, industries and their value chains including enhancing collaboration with other Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs), policy and regulation bodies, financiers, chambers of commerce, local authorities and other supportive stakeholders; and (7) monitoring the local, regional and global investment environment and competitive landscape to capture events impacting investment and develop remedial measures so as to ensure the sustainability of SPEDU IPA.

Qualifications, Experience and Competencies

A Master’s Degree m Business Administration. Economics. Finance, or any other related discipline. A PhD in any of the above would be desirable. A minimum of 10 years of post-graduate qualification experience. 3 of which must have been at senior management level. The successful candidate should possess excellent strategic thinking, business acumen, and entrepreneurial thinking skills

He/she should also demonstrate very good leadership and people management skills, decision making and relationship building skills. The candidate must also have a good grasp of value chain mapping, data analysis and the ability to undertake research for credible feasibility studies and other business fundamentals The candidate is expected to possess excellent writing and presentation skills
