MINING ENGINEER  wanted at Mupane Gold Mine

Reporting to the Senior Mining Manager, applicants should hold a Degree in Mining Engineering with at least three (3) years mining experience, including at / least two (2) years in underground mining operations. Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, the Mine / Engineer will be a degree holder or equivalent with three years’ experience. The key performance areas of the job are as follows:-

• Attending all Drill & Blast and Load & Haul meetings in order to gain operational knowledge.
• Collecting Drill & Blast and Load & Haul tally sheets, capture the relevant data and compile Daily, Weekly and Monthly reports.
• Compile the Explosives Usage Summary report for Month-end reporting and reconciliations.
• Prepare blast blocks in conjunction with Geologists and liaising with Explosives Contractor to nominate drilling patterns and blast Initiation methods.
• Conduct Time and Motion Studies, analyze the data collected and report results thereof. Understanding of cycle times, EFH, loading and hauling efficiencies help improve productivity.
• Participate in given departmental projects as required.
• Participate in the preparation o annual budgets and forecasts. Assist Senior Mining Engineer in ALL Short Term, Medium Term and Long Term Planning activities.
• Participate in the preparation of Daily, Weekly and Monthly Mine Plans and presentations thereof. Assist Senior Mining Engineer in this task as requested.

Successful candidates will have a good understanding of open pit and underground optimisation. Computer mining applications and good communication at all levels
