Systems Engineer – (Infrastructure, Networks and Linux) – SRJ Enterprises (Pty) Ltd

SRJ Enterprises (Pty) Ltd seeks to appoint a Systems Engineer – (Infrastructure, Networks and Linux) The successful candidate will be fully responsible for maintenance of the IT infrastructure and work towards supporting the IT needs of staff at operational level. This will be a highly autonomous role, which will allow you to administer the main Server and network infrastructure, manage server room facilities, manage communications services and provide technical support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage SIGMA, MSS retail software system and trouble shooting
• Manage and control all IT infrastructure, including servers, Intranet, network, desktop computers, VoIP & PSTN port, software and application database
• Strategic planning of direction of IT services and policy
• Technical decisions on implementation matters
• Liaison with appropriate partners at Spar Northrand in RSA
• Be responsible for IT hardware, software and maintenance procurement
• Develop and enforce the IT security policy
• Develop and maintain an IT disaster recovery plan
• Be responsible for the provision of IT infrastructure services

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and communication engineering (B.E/B.Tech) with minimum 3 years’ experience in above areas.
• Extensive experience of the Linux applications and development environment
• Excellent communication and analytical skills and ability to think independently
