SAFETY & OCCUPATIONAL HYGIENE OFFICER – LUCARA BOTSWANA

Job Summary

Reporting to the Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator, the Safety & Occupational Hygiene Officer is responsible for the development, coordina­tion, implementation, management and improvement of the Occupational Health & Safety Program in line with international standards and relevant legislation. The Occupational Health & Safety Officer actively manages the fostering a proactive safety culture and providing a safe and healthy environ­ment for employees; contractors; and visitors in Lucara Botswana.

Effectiveness Areas:

• Planning, coordination, development and implementation of effective safety programmes and initiatives
• Providing technical advice and guidance on safety issues, developing procedures and monitoring adherence to the safety and hygiene regula­tions
• Establishing and promoting the maintenance of safe working conditions and recommending ways to improve on overall safety conditions.
• Carrying out periodic site inspections to assess risks and ensure inter­nal controls are in place.
• Safety, Health and Environmental Compliance.
