Tshidilo Stimulation Centre is a community-based Non- Governmental Organization based in Maun that exists to provide rehabilitation and advocacy for children with disabilities in the North West District. The centre invites suitably qualified individuals for the below-stated positions;

Special Education Teacher – (2 posts)

Qualifications and experience

• Degree/Diploma in Special Education, specialising in Intellectual Disability Infant Education or related field.
• Having worked with People with disabilities will be an added advantage.

Main duties

• Teaching learners with disability using prescribed syllabus by the Ministry of Basic Education.
• Planning individual and group activities to stimulate growth in language, social and motor skills.
• Assisting individual learner in self-care and daily living skills
• Providing a variety of materials and resources for learners to use in learning activities
• Teaching basic skills; recognition of numbers and tetters, personal hygiene, social skills etc.
• Establishing and enforcing rules for behaviour and procedure for maintaining order.
• Participating in preparing and implementing the transition plan.
• Organizing and leading activities designed to promote physical, mental and social development and physical development.
• Identifying children showing signs of emotional, developmental, or health related problems and discussing with supervisor, relevant colleagues and parents/guardians.
• Meeting with parents and guardians to discuss their children’s progress and needs, and determine their priorities.
• Enforcing all administration policies and rules governing children.
• Preparing and establishing teaching materials for the classroom.
• Supervising of the Pre-school
• Undertakes any other assignment as directed by Management to meet the exigency of duty.
