Community Development Facilitators (x3 positions) – Stepping Stones International

We are looking to EXPAND our team with 3 Community Development Facilitators in the following areas:
– Gaborone/South East
– Goodhope
– Kgatleng

Community Development Facilitator (CDF) is responsible for delivering community-based interventions on parenting and community mobilization programmes for USAID in any of the 3 districts; Gaborone & South East/ Goodhope or Kgatleng.

The CDF will be responsible for planning, implementing and coordinating an evidence based parenting program in the district, including the recruitment of participants, home visits, facilitating discussions, and monitoring the program with detailed records.

The CDF will also implement the evidence-based SASA! program supporting gender norms and reduction of gender-based violence. Strategic planning of sessions, community mobilisation and guiding community activities will be necessary as well as meetings with relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Degree or equivalent experience in social work, psychology, community development or family counseling
• Basic programme management and leadership skills required.
• Background in community mobilization and outreach activities
• Strong facilitation skills and prior experience facilitating youth and/or family groups
• Ability to relate and work with people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex activities, maintains organization, meets deadlines, and exercise sound judgment while able to deal with numerous priorities concurrently.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in both English and Setswana
• Willingness to spend 90% of the time in the communities
• Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Office Programmes (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
