MANAGING DIRECTOR (Short Term) wanted at Hollard Botswana

JOB PURPOSE:

To give direction and leadership toward the achievement of the organisation’s philosophy, mission, strategy, annual goals and objectives. The MD is ultimately responsible for the sustainability and profitability of the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial, Tax and Risk Management

• Recommend annual budgets for board approval and manage the organisation’s resources within budget guidelines and relevant legislative requirements.

easiness Development

• Assume overall responsibility for the identification of new business opportunities.
• Lead the successful set up of the entity so that it becomes a highly efficient and profitable business.

Strategic Development, Planning and Reporting

• Drive the delivery of strategic business plans through the leadership of the Senior Team.
• Determine limitations of authority for direct reports covering mandates to execute and deliver on the business strategy.
• Ensure that all financial and nan-financial reporting requirements are met on a timely and regular basis.

Relationship Management

• Develop and manage a wide range of relationships and networks within the insurance and other related industries.

Operational Management

• Ensure the day-to-day operations of the organization are effectively and efficiently coordinated, implemented and conducted within the framework agreed to by the Board.
• Implement stringent project management processes to ensure the timely and cost-effective development of the key projects undertaken by the business.

Leadership

• Demonstrate a professional leadership style that supports the attainment of respect and credibility by others.

Problem Solving and Analysis

• Ability to understand issues and make systematic and radonal judgments based on the relevant information.

Strategy Formulation

• Ability to formulate strategies and policies and create new approaches in adverse situations.
• Ability to translate strategies into strategic and operational activities

• Ability to assimilate complex issues and use appropriate communication strategies to influence wide and diverse audiences.

QUALIFICATIONS

• MSc Strategic Management or related post graduate qualification.
• Fellow in AIISA
• 10+ years Senior Management experience, preferably in the insurance industry
• Experience in selecting, building and leading a Senior Management team essential
