JC BUSINESS PART-TIME CONTENT DEVELOPERS wanted at Botswana Open University (BOU)

Botswana Open University (BOU) is looking for three (3) suitably qualified and duty conscious part-time Content De- velopers/Writers to write teaching materials for the Junior Certificate (JC) Business subjects on the e-learning Moodle platform. The two-targeted subjects are JC Commerce and Accounting & Commerce and Office Procedures. This is a co-sponsored project between the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) and BOU.

Key Performance Areas

The successful candidates will be expected to:

• Write teaching/learning materials for JC level business courses on Moodle platform.
• Ensure examples and activities are suitable to the context and culture of Botswana.
• Ensure pedagogy aligns to the capabilities of teachers and learners in under-resourced study centres.
• Identify and reuse appropriate Open Educational Resources (OERs)
• Ensure all content is clearly written and simple to follow
• Work with two other content developers/writers and graphic designer, relying on ICTs to communicate and manage the work.
• Adhere to the timelines set out by the Subject Specialist.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Secondary Education (Business Subjects) or any other related diploma in business
• Possession of Degree in Business will be an added advantage
• Teaching qualification is required

Experience

At least two years teaching experience in Business Subjects and preference will be given to those who are teaching/have taught the JC Business syllabus. Experience with writing study materials for distance learners will be an added advantage.

Competencies

• Must be computer literate and able to produce quality work within set deadlines.
• Ability to integrate ICTs into teaching/learning materials.
