Program Assistant – SSI

SSI is seeking a highly motivated Program Assistant, responsible for contributing to the design, implementation and monitoring of the Breaking Barriers to an HIV Free Generation, USAID funded programme in Kgatleng district.

Key activities of the Program Assistant include implementation of life skills sessions in schools, home visits to families, mobilization of caregivers for parenting program and providing referrals for services. The PA will be supervising community service providers and ensuring collection of data is complete and certified as such. Outreach initiatives in the community form a key component of the job and 90% of the work is in the community.

Qualifications:

• Diploma/Degree or equivalent experience in or related to youth development
• Basic programme management and leadership skills required.
• Background in community mobilization and outreach activities
• Strong understanding of programme management with previous experience working with youth
• Strong facilitation skills with experience in leading adolescent groups is required
• Ability to relate and work with people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex activities
• Willing to work hard and highly self motivated
• Counselling skills a plus
