Senior Programme Officer – Stepping Stones International

Stepping Stones International seeks a Senior Program Officer, responsible for management and implementation of the USAID Program in Gaborone/South East.

The Senior Program Officer will be responsible for planning, implementing and coordinating all program activities including home visits, support to economic empowerment activities, referrals, case management and linking clients to clinics and other services. Stakeholder management and advocacy in the community are significant components of the job activities. Monitoring through use of tools, collecting data and drafting detailed reports are a major part of the job description. 85% of the position is working in the field with community.

Qualifications:

• Degree or equivalent experience in or related to youth development, social work
• Programme management and leadership skills required.
• Background in community mobilization and outreach activities
• Strong understanding of youth development and family welfare with previous experience working with youth and families
• Strong facilitation skills with experience in leading adolescent groups is required
• Case management and monitoring experience required
• Ability to relate and work with people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex activities, maintains organization, meets deadlines, and exercise sound judgment while able to deal with numerous priorities concurrently.
• Problem solving and decision making skills a must
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in both English and Setswana
• Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Office Programmes (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Willingness to work hard and be motivated
• Flexible, creative, energetic personality
