SENIOR ROADS and/or RAILWAY ENGINEER wanted at Bergstan

Applications are invited from suitably qualified ERB Registered and Practicing Professional Engineers with relevant post graduate experience, for the following Senior position:

Reporting to the Roads & Infrastructure Division Manager and/or Project Leader, the successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of conceptual and detail design, construction and contract management of engineering projects in Botswana and other countries in Africa with a minimum of 12 years. Key tasks include proposal preparation, production of geometric road design, drainage design and preparation of schedules of quantities; at least 2 years’ site project management; and coordination of team members.

The successful candidate will have had experience with the design and construction of urban and rural roads (national roads design experience is preferable) and/or railway infrastructure development using AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other Engineering Design software.

These positions require a hands-on Professional Engineer with strong leadership skills who are able to confidently and appropriately assert themselves, make prudent decisions and effectively solve problems. The candidates will be expected to resolve conflict, deliver to deadlines; and maintain quality and ISO standards and procedures. These roles will involve some regional travel.
