MORUPULE COAL MINE IS A COAL MINING COMPANY IN BOTSWANA SITUATED 14 KILOMETRES WEST OF PALAPYE ALONG SEROWE/PALAPYE ROAD AND MINES COAL PRIMARILY FOR GENERATION OF ELECTRICITY IN BOTSWANA. THE COMPANY SEEKS TO INVITE SUITABLY QUALIFIED AND EXPERIENCED CITIZEN CANDIDATES FOR THE FOLLOWING POSITION:-

LABORATORY ANALYST

Job Summary

• To conduct test works on samples in accordance with the approved procedures.

Key Activities

• Fully utilize the Laboratory information management system (LIMS) for workflow management.
• Conducts chemical, physical and mechanical tests on samples as per the customer’s requirements.
• Monitors quality assurance, quality control and safety management practices to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
• Utilizes complex instrumental analyses such as X-Ray Fluorescence machine (XRF) for various test works.
• Monitors the work environment during test works ensure stability of various processes.
• Conducts first line maintenance, calibrations and verification of equipment.
• Adheres to and promotes safety, health and environmental policies and procedures in area of responsibility.
• Responsible for cleanliness of the equipment and general good housekeeping.

Minimum Education, Training & Experience Requirements

• National Diploma in Analytical/Industrial Chemistry
• 3 years post qualification experience in an industrial laboratory or related fields

Technical Knowledge and Competencies

• Laboratory safety, Knowledge of SHE Management System ISO 45001: 2018 and ISO 14001: 2015
• Experience with LIMS or LMS will be an added advantage
• Experience in an ISO 17025 certified Laboratory will be an added advantage
