PROJECT SPECIFICATION

The consultant should be a specialist in professional tax law, planning and compliance. They should serve MDS by staying updated on new tax laws and position MDS for short and long term tax optimization.

The suitable candidate must show competence in the following:

• Tax Returns; review of Tax returns to determine the company’s tax compliance status
• VAT Returns; review of VAT returns to determine if there are no overpayments or out­standing payments
• ITW8’S; to determine tax compliance (overpayments and underpayments)
• Tax consultancy; to advice on optional systems to ease tax burdenStatutory compliance
• Audits; and recommendations on ways to ease the tax burden (double taxation on imports, import duty, etc.)
• Company secretarial services

Requirements

• Professional Accounting- Association of Certified Chartered Accountants)
• IFRS Knowledge
• Botswana and International Tax laws
