SCHOOL SECRETARY AND RECEPTIONIST (CITIZENS ONLY)

Qualifications and Experience

• Must have a Diploma or above in the relevant field. Further qualifications are an advantage.
• Must be able to manage the front office of the school.
• Must have 5 years’ experience working in a Private School in Botswana.

Key Performance Areas

• Reception duties: attend to visitors/ parents.
• Secretarial /typist duties: type letters for Headmaster and or Deputy Head. File documents in correct folders.
• Answer telephone/ transfer calls/ send faxes/do Emails
• Receive applications and check correct documentation.
• Must be familiar with the Ed Admin system and must be able to update student’s files on it.
• Attend to visitors/ parents needs
• In consultation with the Head make appointments. Maintain an appointment diary for the Head
• Provide application forms and check it for correctness when they are returned.
• Inform the Headmaster of visitors to see him
• Type correspondence
• Type application letters for the application for permission to teach and or other documents etc for the new staff.
• Keep and control the class lists and type these whenever requested by the staff.
• Do Annual Returns for the school.
