Bamas (Pty) Limited is a professional services firm providing accounting, tax, company secretarial and financial advisory services through its head office in Gaborone and a branch in Maun.

Position: Supervisor Accounting

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Accounting or full AAT, having completed the intermediate stage in a full professional qualification such asACCA, CIMA or ACA

Responsibilities include

1. Overseeing the data capture and preparation of on-going monthly management accounts and annual financial statements from the accounting records provided by clients using Pastel Partner accounting software
2. Overseeing the preparation of various reconciliations such as bank, payroll, debtors, creditors and tax
3. Preparing or overseeing the preparation of personal and company tax returns and VAT
4. Managing client expectations and advising clients on financial matters and maintenance of adequate accounting records
5. Applying Botswana tax legislation particularly Income tax, VAT and WHT in the compilation of tax returns
6. Being able to work with a wide range of clients and fellow staff members

Experience & Skills

• Must have worked in a similar position, preferably in a professional firm of accountants for a minimum of three years
• Must have encountered and resolved various accounting and taxation technical queries and situations
• Must be proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office applications and to be an advanced user of Pastel accounting software
• Must have proven ability to supervise and train staff and manage client relationships
