Project Manager is responsible for planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. Project Manager plan and designate project resources, prepare budgets, monitor progress, and keep stakeholders informed the entire way.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reports to the Centre Coordinator on weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Managing and Coordinating activities in the DREAMS project.
- Directly supervise Senior project officers with senior management and Human Resources, identify project staffing needs and contribute to job descriptions and hiring processes.
- With Human Resources, ensure effective orientation and onboarding of project staff.
- Regularly update key stakeholders on progress and challenges.
- Oversees and represents the organization in all aspects of the program in coordination with project leaders.
- Supports implementation of activities as it is required by the project through monthly spot checks
- Communicating performance expectations to program officers, creating goal alignment and integrating programs.
- Giving and seeking feedback, providing coaching to program officers measuring progress and holding people accountable, possibly supporting team development, and recognizing achievement and lessons learned
- Provides support to program management teams, administratively and technically, such as updates to work plans, travel coordination, capacity building and program activities monitoring.
- Contribute in negotiating, executing, and managing complex grants and performance-based contracts
- Review, develop, manage, resource, and implement a program that aligns with the mission and vision of the organization and is operationally integrated with other programs in the organization.
- Contribute to the design, collaborations and implementation plans to ensure long-term sustainability and impact.
- Collaborates effectively with staff and stakeholders Manages financial resources with integrity
- Applies program quality standards to project design and organizational learning
- Documents and shares project accomplishments, challenges, and lessons learned among internal and external partners.
- Participates in identifying resource development opportunities and supports the writing, budget preparation and general development of proposals. And any other duties assigned by the Centre Coordinator
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Bachelor degree in Social Sciences (Social Work, Psychology or related field).
- 3-5 years of experience in programs targeting orphans and vulnerable children and/or adolescent girls; experience with parenting/care giver programs, socioeconomic approaches and/or cash grants strongly preferred.
- Previous experience managing international projects. Previous PEPFAR project experience highly valued.
- Excellent budget and project cycle management skills; administrative and financial skills, including the ability to prepare and analyze work plans and budgets.
- Experience with institutional strengthening and partnership building helpful.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills as well as good judgment and vision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound coordination skills and a demonstrated ability to multitask.
- Demonstrated proactive leadership ability, as well as supervisory and personnel management experience.
- Demonstrates diplomacy, flexibility, and resourcefulness.
- Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in diverse environments and under pressure
