REGIONAL GENERAL MANAGER

Sefalana Cash & Carry, a leading distributor of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) in Botswana, has an opportunity for a seasoned trader to take up the role of a Regional General Manager. The position is tenable at Sefalana Hyperstore Mogoditshane.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

1. A minimum of diploma in business management, marketing management or retail management is required. A higher academic qualification will be an added advantage.
2. At least ten (10) years work experience within the FMCG sector. At least seven (7) years of which should have been at a senior management position.
3. Strong background dealing with varied product categories e.g foods, liquor and non foods.
4. Strong business acumen and analytical skills necessary to drive key performance areas.
5. Be able to manage a diverse business operation with about seventy (70) staff members.
6. Be able to spot and exploit business opportunities for the different product categories that the business offers.
7. Be decisive and able to resolve customer queries, supplier queries and employee conflicts.
8. Be able to establish and maintain good stakeholder relationships with all key stakeholders.
9. Possession of a Class B driver’s license is also a compulsory requirement.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The position holder will perform the following roles:

1. Provide vision and direction to the entire team to enhance business performance.
2. Supervise a team of line managers to ensure productivity and professionalism.
3. Evaluate the business’s product offerings in order to meet customers’ product needs
4. Review management reports to assess progress against the set performance targets
5. Identify new/under-exploited business opportunities to enhance business performance
6. Participate in the formulation, implementation and review of the business strategy.
7. Meet sales revenue, gross profit, stockholdings and shrinkage/stock loss targets.
8. Devise remedial actions to stimulate the performance of weak key performance areas.
9. Establish relationships with key stakeholders in order to enhance business performance.
