Main Purpose of the Job:

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the incumbent will oversee the day to day accounting operations, ensuring accurate, efficient, and effective bookkeeping to support the business. He/she will be responsible for the preparation of financial statements in accordance with financial reporting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gather and monitor financial data (e.g. sales revenues and liabilities)
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual statements (balance sheets and income statements)
• Forecast costs and revenues
• Manage tax payments
• Organize internal audits
• Monitor and report on accounting discrepancies/ Responding to financial inquiries by gathering and interpreting data
• Conduct detailed risk analyses to assess potential investments
• Analyze financial trends
• Perform month-end and year-end close processes
• Manage the accounts payable, accounts receivables
• Preparing weekly cash flow statements, and controlling expenditure and cash flow
• Assisting with the preparation of year-end accounts and statutory accounts
• Authorise monthly AP & AR reports
• Staff development and supervision

Skills, Knowledge, and Behaviors:

• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software
• In-depth understanding of business bookkeeping procedures
• Solid knowledge of accounting regulations
• Excellent math skills with attention to detail
• Time-management abilities
• Confidentiality
• Interpersonal and networking skills

Academic Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have attained the following:
o Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
o Fully qualified with professional membership to ACCA or BICA.
o Minimum work experience 5 years of post-graduate experience within an accounting or finance function.
