1. Process Plant Control and Instrumentation Advisor

• The positions are based at the Mine Site located between Maun and Sehithwa in Ngamiland,
• You must have the enthusiasm and interest to work in a remote location and in a multicultural work environment.

PROCESS PLANT CONTROL AND INSTRUMENTATION ADVISOR

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

The Control and Instrumentation Advisor will focus on developing capacity through systems of work, functional accountability and the practical application of sound problem-solving/maintenance practices, to all plant Control and Instrumentation which is used to monitor and control engineering systems, equipment/machinery and processes, making sure that these systems and processes operate effectively and are maintained efficiently and safely.

You will also be charged with developing the technical and operational capabilities of current C&I Supervisors and Artisans in the Process Plant Maintenance Department

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: You will be responsible for;

• Ensuring the required standards, maintenance procedures and practices are developed and implemented in a planned and structured manner.
• Continually improving maintenance practices and effectiveness during operations, unplanned delays and scheduled shutdowns, in-order to meet operational objectives, production targets and deliver an overall reduction in unit costs.
• Ensuring multidisciplinary coordination between plant operations, metallurgy and other maintenance departments.
• Developing the maintenance skills and effectiveness of supervisors and artisans through a structured mentoring and coaching process.
• Developing monitoring systems to ensure that employees are performing job responsibilities according to training
• Ensuring supervisors and artisans perform their roles and tasks is an efficient and safe manner.
• Promoting safe and efficient operation of the processing facilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

• Eng Applied Control Systems & Instrumentation with a minimum of 10 years’ experience, or;
• Higher National Diploma in Control and Instrumentation with a minimum of 12 years’ experience.
• Auto control system qualification(s)
• Qualified Control and Instrumentation Technician
• Must be proficient in the following;
• Process automation
• Pronto
• Reading, interpreting and application of schematics and blueprints
• Citech, Supervisory Control and Data acquisition (SCADA);
• Siemens S6 X S7-400 PLC’s (Profibus PA and Profinet); Windows Server 2000/2003/2008 – Active Directory, DFS, MS Cluster, IIS, DHCP, DNS; WSUS; VMware; Fibre splicing Network & systems monitoring; UHF Repeaters;
