1. Process Plant Operations Advisor

• The positions are based at the Mine Site located between Maun and Sehithwa in Ngamiland,
• You must have the enthusiasm and interest to work in a remote location and in a multicultural work environment.

PROCESS PLANT OPERATIONS ADVISOR

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

To develop the technical and operational capabilities of operational supervisors and operators in the Process Plant. The advisor will focus on developing technical, supervisory and operational competencies during all phases of the plant commissioning, ramp-up and steady state production.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: You will be responsible for;

• Developing the operational theoretical/practical skills and effectiveness of supervisors and operators (including novice operators) through structured selection, skills development, mentoring and coaching matrix and processes.
• Developing competency-based learning material covering all aspects of plant operations.
• Presenting, training programs and on the job theoretical and practical skills development and transfer.
• Developing, monitoring systems to ensure that employees are performing job responsibilities according to training
• Ensuring that the required technical standards, operating procedures and practices are developed and implemented in a planned and structured manner.
• Ensuring that supervisors and operators perform their roles and tasks in an efficient, effective and safe manner.
• Continuously improving the production process through supervisor and operator effectiveness.
• Assisting as required with maintenance planning, shut-downs, scheduling and execution, in accordance with internal systems and guidelines, to ensure minimized disruption of production.
• Promoting a safe and efficient operation of the processing facilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

• Minimum B.Eng. Degree in Minerals Processing Engineering/Metallurgy/Chemical Engineering plus at least 10 years’ experience in operational positions specifically large processing plants or;
• Higher National Diploma in Minerals Processing Engineering/Metallurgy/Chemical Engineering – minimum of 12 years’ experience.
• Proven leadership qualities in developing people, especially novices, development of course material, skills matrix’s and transferring of skills in all relevant sections of the processing plant (e.g. crushing, grinding, flotation, thickening, filtration and tailings transfer)
