A leading group of companies with interests in FMCG and Hospitality is looking for the services of:

Junior Accountant

The Junior Accountant is responsible for all areas relating to managing financial accounting activities. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position requires great analysis skills, attention to details and ability to work as a team to meet deadlines. The role further has periodic tight deadlines and assignments that requires thinking outside of the box and being pro-active.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

• Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
• Trial balances management.
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of monthly, quarterly and year end reports.
• Ensure the monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
• Ensure compliance to the group’s accounting policies and procedures.
• Supports budget and forecasting activities.
• Year-end audit preparations.
• Reports to the Accounts Supervisors, directors and any other relevant group managers.
• Mentoring trainees.
• Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.

QUALIFICATION & SKILLS

• CA/ACCA/CIMA with minimum 1-3 years’ experience in managing Accounting function independently at a supervisory role OR AAT qualified/ part- qualified person with extensive experience managing accounts.
• Experience working in a group of companies.
• Proven supervisory skills.
• SAGE Evolution software knowledge is an added advantage.
• Excellent spoken and written communication is a must.
• Mature and stable.
