FIRE EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN

Our client is recognized across the SADC region as a reputable provider of world-class and cost effective solutions in the fields of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. The client seeks an experienced candidate the following position:

FIRE EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN

The main purpose of this role is to assure safety through the proper installation and timeous maintenance of fire safety equipment and systems both at the head office and across all project sites.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Installs, inspects, tests, as well as conducts maintenance and repair work on fire safety equipment including smoke detectors, sprinklers, and dry stand pipe systems, and pull systems.
2. Assist in fire safety inspection activities and contributes to implementation of remedial actions to close hazard and incident reports.
3. Support emergency incident management services as required.

Minimum Qualification and Experience:

• Ideally, a certificate in emergency and fire management, with at least 2 years’ experience in the installation, inspection, repair, and maintenance of fire safety equipment and systems, but a BGCSE certificate with at least 3 years’ experience in a similar position can be considered.
• Physical and emotional fitness with an assertive leadership style
• Clear communicator with ability to work under pressure
• Licensed driver with a clean record and sober habits
