Overall Job Description

The Regional Field Supervisor will coordinate all aspects of field implementation of the BAIS V within the selected communities and districts in a defined region. S/He will work to support the coordination and implementation of the survey activities of the field team as well as participate in community mobilization strategies that will encourage participation in the survey assuring the community of confidentiality, safety and, security. S/he will conduct monitoring to ensure that the field teams are meeting their targets and that communities are aware of the survey and willing to participate. S/he will ensure that a surveillance and tracking system is put in place to identify any impediments to the success of the study. This work is largely field based and may require working over weekends and public holidays.

Primary Responsibilities

• Identifies stakeholders, opinion leaders and gate keepers in target communities
• Lead community mobilization efforts at district levels and community level
• Partners with civil service organizations or other entities that can mobilize and ensure active participation in the survey
• Mobilizes targeted communities, creates awareness and uses creative messaging to disseminate messages using local media and other innovative strategies
• Actively Advocates for the project with local authorities, village leader, and civic/ religious
• Develops and implements a plan to monitor community acceptance of survey activities
• Motivate and encourage survey teams and provide constructive feedback and oversight
• Ensure community entry procedures are completed. Lead the team in making courtesy calls and visits to District Health Management Teams, District Commissioners and health facilities prior to survey initiation in areas of jurisdiction
• Ensure the team is adequately equipped and be responsible for logistics.
• Support the day-to-day operations of the field teams
• Track team progress and ensure that the field teams are meeting daily targets.
• Identify any impediments to team success and course-correct efficiently.
