Regional General Manager – Sefalana Cash & Carry

Sefalana Cash & Carry, a leading distributor of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) in Botswana, has an opportunity for a seasoned trader to take up the role of a Regional General Manager.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

1. A bachelor’s degree in commerce, business management, entrepreneurship, retail management or any related fields.
2. At least ten (10) years management experience within the FMCG sector; and at least three (3) years’ work experience at a senior management level.
3. Proficient in interpreting and using financial statements and general management reports.
4. A strong retail background having dealt with, and managed, different product categories.
5. Strong business acumen and analytical skills necessary to achieve key performance indicators within the FMCG business environment.
6. Be able to manage and motivate a management team to enhance the team’s productivity.
7. Be able to assess the market and exploit opportunities to enhance business performance.
8. Be decisive and able to resolve customer queries, supplier queries, and employee issues.
9. Be able to establish and maintain good stakeholder relationships with all key stakeholders.
10. In possession of a Class B driver’s license.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Head of Retail, the position holder will:

1. Communicate the company’s business strategy to his teams and align their business activities to the strategy.
2. Coach and support management teams to implement strategic initiatives in their branches.
3. Supervise a team of line managers to enhance their productivity and business performance.
4. Review management reports to assess business performance against the set performance targets and propose remedial actions.
5. Develop action plans for the team members and review/assess progress on a regular basis.
6. Investigate new/under-exploited business opportunities to enhance business performance.
7. Meet the sales revenue, gross profit, stockholdings, and stock loss targets set for the region.
8. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders for the benefit of the business.
