EXTERNAL ADVERT – ASSOCIATE INVESTMENT CONSULTANT

Associate Investment Consultant

Alexander Forbes Asset Consulting (Pty) Ltd is inviting interested candidates to apply for the position of Associate Investment Consultant. The individual will join a team reporting to the Principal Investment Consultant.

The Role

Assisting institutional investors with performance monitoring, the setting of their investment strategies, selection of asset managers, assessing investment products, performing general research related to investment and providing investment related advice to medical aid fund, retirement funds etc. Providing a professional, quality service and consulting advice to clients.

Interested candidates will need to demonstrate the following:

Qualifications/ Experience

• Undergraduate Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or Actuarial Science
• 5 years’ financial service experience required
• Client facing/consulting experience will be an added advantage
• Knowledge of investment management industry, global economic environment is not a prerequisite but would be an added advantage.
• Candidates must also be prepared to undertake further studies leading to investment related professional qualifications (CIPM, CAIA or similar).

Knowledge & Skills

• Must be fluent in both Setswana and English (spoken, written and read)
• Strong analytical skills
• Knowledge of investment management industry and global economic environment
• Computer literacy – Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook

Additional Inherent Requirements

• Working overtime and additional travelling required
• Driver’s license and own transport will be an added advantage
