VACANCY – WARDER/WARDRESS

The Botswana Prison Service is pleased to invite applications from suitable candidates for the limited posts of Warder/Wardress. The positions are tenable at various Prisons establishments around the country.

VACANCY CIRCULAR No. 1 of 2021

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications: BGCSE/COSC or equivalent with 30 points, with credit in English language and Mathematics

Applicants should:

• Be Botswana citizens
• Be aged between 18 – 29 years
• Be physically and mentally fit
• Have no adverse criminal record
• Be of good character
• Not be pregnant at the time of recruitment and must not fall pregnant throughout the duration of training.

REMUNERATION AND BENEFITS:

i) Contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays 50% and employee 50%)

ii) Contributory Pension Scheme for Permanent and Pensionable Staff (Government pays 15%

and employee 5%)

iii) Overtime allowance at 20% of Basic Salary.

iv) Free housing or housing allowance at 15% of Basic Salary in lieu of housing.

v) Electricity and water subsidy.

SALARY SCALE:

B1 (73 836 – 88 200) per annum (during Training)

C4 (88736 – 101 508) per annum (After Training)

C3 (105 312 – 125 844) per annum (After Confirmation)

LEAVE: 25 working days per annum.
