HR Officer

Job Description

Our Client in Kasane is looking for a strong HR Officer to join their team. They are a safari lodge situated within Botswana’s Chobe National Park that prides itself in the variety and quality of safari experiences, allowing their guests to explore Chobe and all its wonders, while providing service that is more personalized with a homely atmosphere. The incumbent will be responsible for managing every aspect of human resources matters and will be reporting directly to the Lodge Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems
• Providing counselling to staff on policies and procedures
• Support the management of disciplinary and grievance issues
• Maintain employee records according to policy and legal requirements
• Review employment and working conditions to ensure compliance
• Ensuring meticulous implementation of payroll and benefits administration.
• Communicating with staff about issues affecting their performance.
• Office administration
• Assist with stock control

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in human resources.
• Experience in hospitality industry Added advantage
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in human resources.
• Knowledge of the Employment act of Botswana
• Able to engage in meaningful negotiation and resolution.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Full understanding of HR functions and best practices.
• Ability to use Excel and Word comfortably
• Must be eligible to work in Botswana
