Legal Aid Botswana is a Parastatal under the Ministry of Justice established under the Legal Aid Act, Cap. 16:02, with the objective to provide legal representation, legal advice, and public education on legal matters to the indigent. Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following positions under Legal Aid Botswana. Appointment to this position will be on a Permanent and Pensionable terms.

VACANCY CIRCULAR NO. 7 OF 2022:

DRIVER MESSENGER BAILIFF (Tenable in Kasane)

Main purpose of the job:

To drive Legal Aid Botswana vehicles, transporting officers and delivering documents and mail in the most efficient, safe and cost-effective manner.

Duties:

Performs all administrative support duties including filing of all administrative support gaps including filling and distributing all correspondence.

• To register and serve summons as directed.
• Complete execution process as directed by rules and regulations
• To serve notices of appearance to defend, opposition, please and affidavits within the set standards.
• To serve notices of set down, notices of motion according to agreed standards
• To submit return of service within accordingly.
• To serve eviction orders and evict defendants.
• To drive vehicles, displaying a standard of professionalism and undertake routine maintenance of Legal Aid Botswana vehicles
To ensure that logbooks are properly maintained, and all transactions are entered
• Delivers mail and other documents to Legal Aid Botswana clients.
Shall report accidents to nearest Police station and to the supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Certificate in Law
• Valid Driver’s License
• Must be a Botswana citizen

Experience: Minimum of two (2) years driving experience in a similar type of office professional environment.
