Assistant Metallurgical Technician – MP Mining

Job Description

Reporting to the Production Metallurgist, the incumbent will be responsible for the following;

• Conducting of process assurance tasks in the process plant
• Carry out audits and inspections in the process plant equipment, samplers, scales.
• Performing specific surveys to the crushing, grinding, flotation and filtration circuits
•  Validating the accuracy of equipment measurement, performing the maintenance needed and filling out work orders accordingly.
• Conducts metallurgical test works on reagents screening, optimization, projects, and process improvements.
• Data capturing and report compilation for test works and process assurance tasks.
•  Ensuring effective transfer of information and carrying out other duties required by the plant Metallurgist.
• Performing safety inspections of equipment and facilities for hazards such as fire hazards, potential electrical problems, potential chemical exposure problems

Qualifications

• BGCSE
• Any metallurgical certificates or equivalent will be an added advantage.
• 5 years working experience in lab or process plant.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Competent in using excel and MS
• Ability to sustain and develop team working and team-based problem solving.
• Ability to achieve results by setting high standards and committing to clear objectives.
• Adaptable to change and varying situations, ability to show resilience and a flexible approach.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
