Job Description
Wild Entrust Africa are recruiting a Social Media Manager to be the voice for our conservation organisation across social media channels and our website. You will be responsible for creating original text, photographic and video content, managing posts and responding to followers. You will manage our image in a cohesive way to help facilitate our conservation goals. The Social Media Manager will be responsible for looking for opportunities to increase the exposure of Wild Entrust (WE), and our three programs; Botswana Predator Conservation (BPC), Coaching Conservation (CC) and Community Coexistence (CoEx).
The role will be based in Maun and will require some time in the field with each of our three programs, and will require good communication skills with the teams to ensure up to date content is being produced.
Duties and responsibilities
- Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content weekly for each program (e.g. original text, photos, videos and news)
- Collect, organise and cache content from our programs to use for future posts
- Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences
- Monitor SEO and web traffic analytics
- Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner and monitor customer reviews
- Manage and update the website
- Manage other communications e.g. newsletter
- Assist with creation of the annual impact report
- Oversee social media accounts’ design (e.g. Facebook timeline cover, profile pictures and blog layout), coordinate with the WEA Creative Director
- Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness, like promotions and competitions
- Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications

- BSc or BA degree (or similar), in Marketing or relevant field
- Proven work experience as a Social media manager
- Hands on experience in content management
- Excellent copywriting skills
- Ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video)
- Excellent communication skills
- Analytical and multitasking skills
Desirable
- Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics
- Knowledge of online marketing channels
- Photography, videography and editing skills
