VACANCY:
DIRECTOR (PROCUREMENT AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT)
Applications are invited from highly motivated and well experienced self-driven citizens of Botswana for the position of Director – Procurement and Project Manageme tenable in the Ministry of Minerals and Energy.
Salary: E1 (P512143 – P532 860per annum)
Leave: 30 working days per annum.
Benefits:

Duration: 2 • 3 years contract
Qualifications: Degree in Supply Cham Management/ Purchasing & Materials Managemenb’ClPS Level 6 or any other relevant field.
Experience: A minimum of 12 years work experience in the relevant area, two (2) years of which should have been served at E2 salary scale or equivalent.
Main Purpose of the Job: To provide strategic leadership and guidance on procurement services, facilities management and contract management, as well as asset disposal at Ministry and Independent Department level, in a timely and cost effective manner.

Key Performance Areas:
1.Liaises with the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority, Ministry of Finance and other relevant procurement structures, other minetnes/departments and oversight bodies as may be necessary for successful delivery of procurement.
2.Provides professional leadership m negotiations with bidders/ contractors to facilitate effective delwry of procurement services.
3.Oversees the development of contracts with contractors.
4.Aligns/endorses contractor selection to procurement policy and strategy of Government of Botswana and reviews the list of contractors based on their performance.
5.Facilitates implementation of contracts between contractors and Mmistry/Departments.
6.Develop the procurement strategy in line with the relevant laws, policies and regulations and facilitates its implementation.
7.Leads the dissemination of best practices in procurement to facilitate greater work efficiencies in the procurement unit
8.Oversees the examination and development of estimates of material, equipment and service requirement
9.Manages all procurement and disposal by tender activities of the Ministry.
10.Provide professional advice and guidance to the Ministry on matters relating procurement practices for effective procurement of goods, works and services.
11.Coordinates the development and implementation of procurement plan.
12.Formulates procurement plans by coordinating planning activities with the technical and other user Departments to timely forecasts and consolidate procurement requirements for the entire Ministry.
13.Maintains systems for timely dissemination of procurement and contract award information.
14.Supervises the maintenance of adequate stock control and replenishment systems in the Procurement Units central and subsidiary warehouses and related disposal activities of assets and obsolete non serviceable inventory items.
