TRAINING OFFICER – TALENT LOCALISATION & DEVELOPMENT
BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
The Training Officer – Talent Localisation & Development will be instrumental in building a robust talent pipeline, driving localisation efforts, and ensuring the organisation is future-ready through effective succession planning and development programs. This role is responsible for localizing expatriate-held positions, ensuring structured skills transfer, and implementing succession planning initiatives within the Projects Department, mining contractors, other site contractors, and critical business areas.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your key accountabilities include:
- Identifying, assessing, and developing high-potential talent.
- Implementing structured career development path-ways, including Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
- Ensuring compliance with localisation requirements and nurturing local talent.
- Overseeing graduate and secondment programmes to build future leaders.
- Identifying and developing Stronger Talent Pipeline of high-potential employees to meet current and future business needs.
- Conducting talent mapping using performance reviews and (Modified Career Path Appreciation) MCPA results.
- Administering psychometric assessments to evaluate potential and guiding development planning.
- Overseeing the creation, implementation, and monitoring of IDPs.
- Ensuring enhanced Workforce Capability by focused
IDP management and development initiatives to up-skill employees and preparing future leaders. - Ensuring knowledge transfer by facilitating exchanges between Botswana and MMG Group, acce capability-building across regions
Managing graduate s performance management. - Coordinating secondment processes and cross border talent development initiatives.
- Consistent tracking and reporting on localisation, graduate development, and succession planning outcomes.
- Participating in industry forums and workshops to enhance professional knowledge and network with peers in the Talent Management, HR and mining sectors
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Ruman Resources, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in talent management or psychometric assessments is an advantage.
- Must be in possession of a valid Class B Driver’s Licence.
