Job Opportunity: Workshop Manager / Senior Mechanic

Pony Transport is looking for a seasoned, hands-on workshop leader — someone who lives and breathes diesel, understands engines instinctively, and knows what it takes to keep a fleet operational in demanding conditions.

Key Requirements:

• 10–20 years of practical experience in heavy-duty vehicle maintenance
• Deep understanding of both Common Rail and older diesel engines
• Skilled in diagnostics (both with tools and by feel)
• Experience with hydraulics, air systems, and electrics
• Welding and fabrication certified
• Rebuilds – engines, gearboxes, drivetrains
• MAN truck experience strongly preferred
• Physically fit and willing to work long hours
• Computer literate – job cards, inventory, workshop systems
• Capable of leading a small team and keeping accurate service records
• Valid HD driver’s license required

Responsibilities Include:

• Full oversight of workshop operations
• Planning parts and rebuilds ahead of failures
• Leading diagnostics, rebuilds, and servicing
• Maintaining workshop tools, equipment, and standards
• Reporting to management and aligning daily with the Operations Manager
• Building a results-driven, hands-on team culture
• Keeping service records and contributing to operational readiness
