PROCUREMENT EXECUTIVE – SELEBI PHIKWE

SPEDU is a Company wholly owned by the Government of the Republic of Botswana, under the Ministry of Trade and Investment, whose mandate is to facilitate and coordinate economic development projects and regeneration of the SPEDU Region.

The Company is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified, dynamic, talented and experienced individual to join their team in the above mentioned position:

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsiblefor ensuring that supply chain needs are met in a timely and cost effective manner, reviewing costs, developing relationships with vendors and suppliers, and offering suggestions for where and how much materials and supplies to buy.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Main responsibilities include ensuring the implementation of the Company’s procurement policies and procedures; developing and implementing of Invitation to Tender (ITT) documents; directing and guiding during evaluation process to ensure cost effectiveness, quality and appropriateness of services and supplies; procuring goods and services within approved thresholds, and assisting in the development and implementation of the approved Procurement Plan.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for negotiating and agreeing the best possible pricing terms with the suppliersconfirmed by contracts, as well as assisting in managing the contracts of suppliers and service providers.

Further, the successful candidate will ensure that contracts are properly signed with suppliers, vendorsand service providers and are kept up to date.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES

• Degree in Supply Chain Management or CIPS Level 6 or any other related field.
• Technical qualification such as FIDIC, Corporate Governance, SHE, Contract Management and Tender Adjudication would be an added advantage.
• CIPS membership is a must.
• A minimum of three (3) years post qualification experience in a procurement environment is required.
• The incumbent should pay attention to detail, have strong analytical skills and be assertive and committed to work.
• He/she should also demonstrate strong negotiation and interpersonal relationship and buying skills.
