The Security Guard at Letlhakeng Nature Reserve will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the reserve, its visitors, staff, and wildlife. This role involves monitoring premises, and responding to incidents to maintain a secure environment.

Key Responsibilities:

•Observe and report suspicious activities or breaches of security.

•Conduct regular patrols of the game reserve, including visitor areas, staff quarters, and wildlife zones.

•Ensure all areas are secure and free from potential threats.

•Attend visitors and provide information regarding safety protocols and reserve guidelines.

•Assist guests in emergencies and ensure their safety.

•Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies.

•Monitor wildlife activity and report any concerning behavior or poaching activities.

•Collaborate with wildlife management teams to ensure the safety of animals.

Qualifications and Skills:

•Previous experience in security or law enforcement preferred.

•Strong observational skills and attention to detail.

•Ability to remain calm and act decisively in emergencies.

•First aid and CPR certification is an added advantage.

•BGCSE Certificate

Working Conditions:

•Work primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions.

•May encounter wildlife and must be trained in wildlife safety protocols.

•Shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed to ensure 24/7 security coverage.

•Flexibility in scheduling is required for peak visitor seasons.

•Ability to walk, stand, and patrol for extended periods.

•Work closely with other security personnel, reserve staff, and wildlife conservation teams.

•Participate in regular meetings and training sessions to stay updated on security protocols.
