The Park Patroller at Letlhakeng Nature Park will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the park, its visitors, and wildlife. The role involves patrolling the park grounds, monitoring wildlife activities, assisting visitors, and maintaining the overall cleanliness and orderliness of the park. The Park Patroller will also play a key role in educating visitors about the park’s history, wildlife, and conservation efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

•Patrol the park grounds regularly to ensure the safety and security of visitors, wildlife, and park facilities.

•Monitor and report any unusual wildlife behaviour, potential threats, or safety hazards within the park.

•Assist visitors with information about the park, its wildlife species, and conservation efforts.

•Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the park, including picking up litter and ensuring facilities are in good condition.

•Provide guidance and supervision to visitors at the campsite and boma areas.

•Monitor and manage the water-points to ensure animals have access to water.

•Collaborate with park management and other staff to address any issues or concerns within the park.

•Participate in park events, educational programs, and conservation initiatives as required.

•Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

•Physical fitness and ability to walk or patrol long distances.

•Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle (if required).

Working Conditions:

•The Park Patroller will work outdoors in various weather conditions.

•May be required to work on weekends, holidays, or evenings.

•Will interact with visitors from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

•Must always adhere to park rules and safety guidelines.

Qualifications and Skills:

•High school diploma or equivalent.

•Previous experience in wildlife conservation, park management, or related field is preferred.

•Knowledge of local wildlife species, plants, and conservation practices.

•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
