Komatsu is a global leader in the supply of Japanese-engineered mining, construction, earthmoving and utility equipment. Komatsu Botswana is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join their Jwaneng Team. The successful candidate should hold a Degree in B.Sc. Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) with 8 years technical experience with four (4) years in a leadership role in a Mining environment.

QUALIFICATIONS 

• B.Sc in Engineering Mechanical / Electrical

EXPIRIENCE REQUIREMENTS 

• 8 years technical experience
• 4 years in a leadership role in a Mining environment
• Post graduate qualification is an advantage
• Minimum 2 in strategic management level
• Team leadership skills with an ability to lead through influence in a matrix environment

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Knowledge of industry norms and best practices
• Strategic management skill
• Relevant systems knowledge, including sound knowledge of the full MS Office suite & SAP
• People oriented and results driven
• Excellent communication both written and verbal

JOB SPECIFICATION

• Management of technical staff and continuous leadership development

• Collaborates with the SHE functions in the roll out of SHE Strategy

• Business experience regarding customer liaison, service level/contractual agreements, decision making and problem resolution preferably in mining

• Contract, customer and supplier management

• Unit Sales and Parts Sales Management

• General Physical branch and asset management

• Product Support Management

• Tactical Upper Corporate Governance

• Manages Implementation of branch structures, resources and systems aligned with strategies direction

• Financial Management regarding profitability and cost control, inventory management and reporting

• Participates in planning human resources needs and requirement for the branch for approval by Executive leadership

• Participates in operations strategic plan development with divisional team and Operations Executive

• Conducts resources planning for the branch and identifies risk and strategies preventative and mitigation strategies
