About the Company

WestSure Insurance Company Botswana is a privately held short-term insurance provider headquartered in Gaborone, Botswana. Established in 2017, the company has branches in both Gaborone and Francistown. It is regulated by the Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority (NBFIRA).
WestSure offers a range of insurance products tailored for individuals and businesses. The company emphasises strong partnerships with brokers and intermediaries, enabling the delivery of flexible and innovative insurance solutions.
We are now seeking a visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead our next growth phase, drive strategic expansion, and deliver long-term value to clients, stakeholders, and the market.

Role Overview

The CEO will provide strategic leadership, implement high-impact growth initiatives, and drive operational excellence. The successful candidate will ensure WestSure remains agile, innovative, and competitive, while maintaining strong governance and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

» Develop and execute a robust strategic plan for business growth.
» Drive market expansion through product innovation, digital transformation, and strategic partnerships.
» Ensure strong financial performance and sustainable underwriting results, supported by prudent risk management.
» Build and lead a high-performance executive team and promote a values-driven corporate culture.
» Engage effectively with regulators, reinsurers, brokers, and other key stakeholders.
» Provide accurate, timely reporting to the Board and uphold sound corporate governance.

Required Qualifications & Experience

» Bachelor’s degree in business, Insurance, Finance, or related Professional qualification coupled with extensive experience at Executive Level
» Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience, including at least 10 years in a C-suite or senior executive role within the insurance or financial services sector.
» Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management capabilities.
» Demonstrated success in driving growth, profitability, and operational efficiency, preferably in insurance and risk management.
» In-depth knowledge of Botswana’s insurance market and regulatory framework.
» Proven track record in business transformation and customer-centric innovation.
» Experience with group synergies and cross-selling of insurance products.
