Afro Ventures Botswana, trading as and Beyond, is seeking a capable, stable, and high-energy Managing Director – Southern Africa to provide strategic leadership and oversee the efficient, sustainable operations across Botswana, Namibia, and Mozambique.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide strategic direction and leadership for the region, ensuring business alignment with andBeyond’s values and long-term goals
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the tourism industry and partner communities
* Identify and investigate new business opportunities, prepare tenders, and develop models for potential ventures
* Oversee all lodge, camp, and regional office operations, ensuring profitability, operational excellence, and brand integrity
* Ensure consistent delivery of a 5-star guest experience across all properties
* Lead the regional budgeting process and maintain financial oversight, including sign-off of annual budgets and capital planning
* Ensure full legal and regulatory compliance across all countries of operation
* Drive sustainability and carbon footprint reduction initiatives across all business units
* Collaborate closely with Wild Impact to raise funds and implement community upliftment projects
* Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams, with a strong focus on talent growth and cultural alignment
* Represent the region in brand, marketing, and strategic planning initiatives at a global level

Qualifications & Experience:

* A diploma or degree in Hospitality, Tourism, or a related field
* Minimum 15 years of senior leadership experience in luxury or remote lodge environments
* Proven experience managing multi-country operations within Africa
* In-depth understanding of Botswana’s legislative and regulatory frameworks
* Demonstrated financial and budget management skills
* Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel frequently within the region
* Strong operational experience, including hospitality, logistics, guest service, planning, HR, sustainability, and capital project oversight
* Event or project management experience is advantageous
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams)
