RAISE BORE OPERATOR – Master Drilling

Job Summary

Reporting to Supervisor & Contract Manager is responsible for operating raise bore drilling machine system and ancillary equipment including health, safety and environmental requirements for work of the project.

Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

• Site preparation and set-up
• Plan, arrange and place the equipment in the correct positions
• Collaring, aligning and secure the machine on the correct angle, collar the hole and inspect
• Piloting, pilot the hole, install rods as hole progress
• Manage the operational risks, perform daily maintenance on machine
• Reaming, install stem, wings, cutters, dress, torque reamer, collar, ream hole, remove reamer and manage operational risks
• Managing operational risks, monitor and manage piloting and reaming

Job Requirements

• Diploma or certificate in National Technical (Electronics or equivalent)
• Certificate in Health & Safety
• Supervisory experience of 3 years in a Mining environment, Raise bore drilling preferred.
• Computer Literate
• Speak, read, and write – English
• Medically fit to work on surface and in an underground environment
• Ability to pass a police clearance
• Five to ten years’ previous experience as Raise bore Fitter
• Fault finding on Automated Raise bore Systems
• Automated Raise bore Machines (RD3, RD5 and RD7) experience is advantageous
• Trained on Automated Software System
