HEAD MILLER – Bolux Group

VACANCY 

Bolux Group consists of manufacturing units in Ramotswa supplying maize meal, flour and pasta to the local and export markets. We are currently looking for a professional Head Miller. The incumbent will be based in Ramotswa, Botswana. Reporting to the Milling Manager, the incumbent shall have the responsibility to supervise the operation of the maize and wheat mills to achieve set extraction and finished product quality specifications.

Your principal responsibilities shall include the following:

• Plan and execute daily production on the basis of agreed targets and prepare duty roster, so that efficient production flow is achieved.

• Monitor and record all raw materials received and used, ensure that they comply with specifications, and where there are defects, take corrective action.

• Ensure the efficient cleaning and conditioning of raw materials in preparation for production in order to meet production specification and standards.

• Establish the quality settings on machinery in preparation for the production of maize, wheat and other products.

• Monitor, check and control the operation of the machinery during the production process.

• Participate in the preparation of a maintenance schedule to ensure that production plans accommodate planned maintenance.

• Verify stock levels and in liaison with Milling Manager, follow up on items to ensure an on-going supply of raw materials, packaging stocks sundries and consumables.

• Carry out inspection to ensure that high standards of housekeeping and safety practices are maintained.

• Guide and direct staff on acceptable standards of housekeeping and safety, to minimise incidents which may result in damage to property and/or injury to persons.

• Participate actively in the implementation of ISO, FSSC, and Kaizen programs to contribute to company compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental Policies.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate must possess a Degree in Agricultural Mechanization / Crop Science / Degree in Food Science, or equivalent or specialised training in maize meal / flour production practices. Five (5) years post qualification experience. Working knowledge of both plant and machinery in the Mill Factory.
