CONTROL & INSTRUMENTATION (C&I) ENGINEER – Lucara

Botswana (Pty) Ltd owns the Karowe Diamond Mine in Letlhakane. The operation is currently undergoing construction in which two vertical shafts are being sunk for underground extraction.

To be part of the ongoing underground mine development, Lucara Botswana invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the following position tenable in Letlhakane.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the C & I Engineer is responsible for planning plan, designing, developing, and maintaining systems that control and monitor physical parameters within the scope of winder systems and its associated applications including provision of instrumentation and automation services in order to ensure network availability, quality of supply service, operational safety, efficient projects delivery in order to achieve mine and engineering strategic objectives.

• Maintenance planning and scheduling

• Predictive and preventive maintenance management

• Control and instrumentation system network management

• People effectiveness

• Project management coordination

• Planning, budgeting and cost control

• Safety, health and environmental compliance

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Control and Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent qualification.

• Minimum 8 years post qualification experience and proven experience in a similar role in underground mining, winder system environment, and 3 – 5 years in a similar position.

• Experience with PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS

• Commissioning and decommissioning of instruments
