Botswana Housing Corporation is a parastatal under the Ministry of Water and Human Settlement with mandate to provide for the housing, office and other building needs of the government and local authorities. INTERNAL AUDITOR

Main Purpose of the Job

We are seeking dynamic experienced candidates who can successfully evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal
control systems and review the Corporations financial and operational activities for effective and efficient utilization of the
corporation’s assets/resources.

Key Responsibilities

The successful Candidate will be responsible for the following inter alia:-
* Ensures that audit conclusions are based on a complete understanding of the processes and circumstances, and ensures adherence to professional standards.
* Contributes to the development of audit programmes and testing procedures relevant to set and test objectives.
* Reviews and Advises management on the adequacy and effectiveness of the internal control systems relating to all aspects of the business.
* Performs special review and audit technical, financial and management related matters and carry out ad hoc audit work as and when the need arises.
* Carries out audit of organizational units to ensure that they are performing their planning, accounting, custodial and control activities in compliance with the laid down policies and procedures, which are consistent with the goals and objectives of the Corporation.
* Makes oral or written presentations to management during and at the conclusion of audits, discussing deficiencies and recommending corrective action to improve operation and reduce costs.
* Follow up audits to ensure that all recommendations discussed and agreed upon with management have been affected.
* Draft Audit reports on assignments done.

Qualifications and Experience

The right candidate must possess the following qualifications and credentials:
* Minimum Degree in Auditing or Finance, Accounting, Business or related fields.
* Professional membership of a recognised institute e.g. CIMA, ACCA, CIA
* Must be registered with Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA)
* Minimum of five (5) years post qualification experience in an auditing or accounting environment.
