An opportunity has arisen for an Accountant to handle all accounting, procurement and Administration responsibilities such as financial policies, internal and external audit activities. Under general supervision, responsible for moderately complex accounting activities.  Prepares managerial reports and financial statements. Please refer to the minimum requirements and duties and responsibilities as outlined below.

Develop monitor and report budgets, financial forecasts, and expenditure reports on weekly and monthly basis.

Ensure correct and timely feedback to Contract Manager and Finance Manager on financial, stock, customers and supplies accounts.

Establish and maintain strong internal controls of Financial and procurement policies.

Assist with preparation of timeous monthly management accounts

Provide ongoing assistance and advice to contracts.

Preparing; administering and interpretation of financial information.

Allocation of Maintenance costs to operations

Oversee the day-to-day procurement of goods and services.

Assisting the Contract Manager with compiling a budget and forecasts.

Delegating to and managing operational admin staff including performance management.

Recordkeeping of financial information, contracts, and agreements with vendors and stakeholders

Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation

Ensure compliance with external audit requirements

Ensure compliance with appropriate IFRS standards

Developing strong relationships with cross-functional teams and departments

Liaise with external and internal auditors

Monthly stock take and reconciliation on the accounting system

Performing of quarterly asset verifications.

Preparation and reconciliation of monthly revenue for invoicing and accrual.

Monthly debtors invoicing and following up of payments.

Ensuring all monthly expenses is accounted for during the correct financial period.

Assist with timeous month-end and year-end results

Ad hoc accounting and finance matters

Perform any other duties as assigned by the Contract Manager and Financial Manager

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, AAT or related field.

Advancing towards CA qualification.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in general administration and accounting of which 3 should be at supervisory level.

Experience with stock, cost controls, revenue calculations, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and procurement.

Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems.

Strong problem-solving and risk-management skills.

Member of Botswana Institute Chartered Accountants (BICA) in good standing

Clean criminal record.

Valid class B Driver’s license
