Positioned in one of the country’s key mineral belts, Tataki Mine is set to become a cornerstone of sustainable economic growth, job creation and local development. The mine is now actively recruiting to fill a wide range of vacancies, the recruitment drive aims to empower communities and stimulate long-term economic participation. The mine wishes to recruit experienced Drone Pilot to join our dynamic security operations team.

DRONE PILOT – UAV OPERATIONS SPECIALIST

Job Purpose:

The position will play a pivotal role in developing and leading the drone operations team, overseeing a range of activities such as inspection, mapping, surveillance, security and autonomous missions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute drone missions for infrastructure inspection, security, surveillance, and mapping.
• Plan and execute autonomous flight missions using enterprise-level DJI drones (M30T, M350, Mavic 3E/3T, Dock 3, etc.).
• Operate drones in line with BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) protocols where approved.
• Carry out routine maintenance, pre-flight, and post-flight checks.
• Ensure strict adherence to CAAB and international UAV safety regulations.
• Provide support in data collection, analysis, and reporting from drone flights.
• Collaborate with the security manager and internal teams to deliver mission results accurately and efficiently.

Minimum Requirements:

• CAAB Certified UAV Pilot (or recognised equivalent).
• Minimum of 30 hours documented flight time on DJI Consumer and enterprise drones.
• Proficient in DJI Pilot 2, FlightHub 2, and mission planning software.
• Hands-on experience with autonomous drone operations and waypoint mission planning.
• Familiarity with BVLOS operations, safety protocols, and airspace regulations.
• Strong understanding of RTK systems, thermal imaging, and GIS data collection is an advantage.
• Ability to work in remote environments and under pressure.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver’s license (Class B or higher) is an added advantage
