Job Overview
The Compliance Officer’s key duties are to ensure that the organisation complies with all regulatory requirements as well as internal processes and procedures. The incumbent will also be responsible for embedding a risk management culture within the business, facilitate the development and maintenance of risk controls

He/She should be familiar with risk management and have a firm understanding of regulatory landscape of the financial services industry.
Key responsibilities of the role entail reporting all compliance issues to the Board of Directors, implementing and maintaining compliance programs and procedures as well as providing support to Management on regulatory matters
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to;
• Compliance risk management plans for all compliance requirements
• Enhance and promote a compliance culture through awareness activities
• Advise the company on compliance issues and provide recommendations
• Ensure timely completion of Compliance training
• Serve as the key contact person between the Regulator and the company
• Evaluate business activities (ie investments o assess compliance risk)
• Develop & implement an effective compliance program
• Draft & revise company policies
• Create sound internal controls & monitor adherence to them
• Ensure regulatory, client and other corporate records are maintained
• Ensure that the company addresses concerns raised by the Regulator and delivers commitments made to the Regulator.
• Manage the full reporting process, findings and appropriate recommendations for improvement as required
Experience and qualifications required for the role
• A Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related qualification.( Qualifications in Law or Risk will be advantageous)
• Knowledge of Insurance and Investment Products
• Knowledge of Compliance policies and other compliance requirements
• Strong understanding of current & anticipated regulatory requirements
• Knowledge of risk management principles, methodologies and processes.
• Good knowledge of FIA, NBFIRA requirements and expectations
SKILLS
• High proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Great communication skills
• Ability to work well under limited supervision
